Whirlpool 17.7 cu. ft. Upright Freezer WSZ57L18DM

This is my third in 20 years. They work fabulous. Now you may say why three? To be clear all three sets are still working. One set is in my daughters house and I have the second second set in a rent house, The new set is in my main residence. What more can I say other than they are so good I have bought three sets.

I bought this over a month ago and am truly happy with this freezer.

Bought a month ago. Size is perfect for Me, interior design is splendid, easy to access items, door pockets great for small grocery items. Simple design for exterior makes it easy to clean and attractive.

I brought this a couple weeks ago. I am happy with the fact it's quiet also energy efficient .no defrosting needed. The bottom basket sticks a little but other than that it is a great buy.

I threw the original freezer unit that was purchased new and installed in Mar '15 into the garbage dump last week after we had to buy a replacement unit. We would have bought another brand, but we were unable to locate a unit with the same dimensions to fit the built- in space. To note, we also had to replace the matching fridge unit in Feb. '19 after 7 or 8 repairs failed to resolve the daily operating problems that began a year after the original install date (Mar '15). These units are expensive and have proven to be totally unreliable. Nearly $4,000 into the dump and another $3,800 for replacements. Not including service calls and replacement parts. I'm not sure how difficult it is to design and build these units and transition refrigeration concepts, however, I am sure that the necessary skillsets do not reside within the Whirlpool organization. What is the environmental footprint and impact of these units with a life cycle of less than 4 years? Why would you want photos added to see me throwing this unit off of the back of my truck into the garbage dump? While slightly amusing, it's disgusting. One lemon? Maybe. Two? Highly unlikely. I'm sure that we're not the only "victims" who purchased these models and experienced the same problems.
